Upgrades at the N.E.S.T.

Dear community,

Spring has arrived—at the N.E.S.T. at last.

The daffodils have lifted their golden faces, and the tulips are beginning to whisper through the soil. Spring onions, nettles, and wild garlic are rising in their own time. Lilac buds are softening, forsythia flickers at the edges, and though the trees are unhurried, their awakening is quietly underway.

The stream has found its voice again—I can hear it from the house, a gentle, steady song. And above it all, the air is alive with wings… blue jays calling, cardinals bright as embers, robins returning, hawks circling high—each one a small messenger of movement, of renewal.

Even the ladybugs have come back to visit, filling the corners of the house as if to remind us—again—of quiet abundance, of unseen blessings gathering.

Here at our nest, much is stirring.

Before winter settled in, we began laying the foundation for our tipi—a long-held vision now taking form.

Nearby, a generous compost system has been built to hold and transform what we once carried away. What was once considered waste is now returning to the soil, completing its cycle, feeding what will come.

A new woodshed is also rising, in preparation for the many fires that will guide us through the coming seasons—gatherings, ceremonies, trainings, and time on the land.

Each structure, each effort, is a gesture of care for what has been growing here over these past six years.

A message from Stefanie Frank, director of the N.E.S.T. during the winter months, when work was at a standstill…

We feel it all gently coming back to life—the land, the rhythm, the shared path.

And we look forward to welcoming you here again soon… to walk together, to listen, to remember what it is to be in community, held by the quiet generosity of the natural world.

Always better, together. 🌿

Love, Stefanie
